Equi is a think tank that was born out of the UK Muslim community.
UK Muslims are a vibrant and diverse community. They tap into diverse ancestries but have often been left out of public policy. Equi was created to help share their ideas and work with everyone for the benefit of all British people.
The Current State of Affairs.
There is a real feeling that the UK is in decline with foodbanks, a housing crisis, a struggling NHS, and falling life expectancy. We must urgently solve these issues.
The Call for New Thinking.
New thinking is needed on how to build a brighter future for all our people. The country has been looking for a realistic revival plan ever since the financial crisis of 2008. It’s time to develop that new story and for that we need more people bringing new ideas to the table.

What we do
Research and Policy Development
We carry out qualitative and quantitative research on a host of issues like the economy, health, education, the environment, and citizenship. These are rooted in the needs of the nation and communities, and carried out by experts as well as lived experience. This all feeds into policies put forward to government.
Listening and Learning
We listen and learn, from experience and expertise, exploring and questioning received wisdom. We do this work because we know that when we join the dots we also join each other to make public policy meaningful for everyone.
